Marvin was married to my cousin, Glenna. We did not live in the same state as I was growing up but on family occasions when I was around Marvin he was always happy and enjoying life. And he was so handsome! As a ten-year-old I had a little crush on my cousin's husband! I wasn't around Marvin in our later years but I know his two daughters Michelle and Katrina loved him dearly. And he loved them. He was an "awesome Daddy"!  My heart goes out to the many friends and family that will miss him deeply. Rest in peace Marvin.

I am so sad to hear of Marvin's passing, he was always bringing a smile to the membership staff of the South YMCA when he would come in.  He was always in a great mood even on the coldest days, and was a great person that we had the privilege of interacting with.  I for one will miss seeing him come in and the interaction we had with Marvin.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.  Marvin will definitely be missed at the South YMCA by all.

I have known Marvin for a good many years.  I was a member on one of his pool league teams in the early 1990's.  I still remember him this pool league session playing against his team.  I am sorry to see him leave us.  Good luck playing up there in heaven Marvin.  We all miss you here on Earth.

Thanks for all you did as it relates to bluegrass music.   Spent alot of my youth at bluegrass festivals listening to Prairie Wind.   God bless!

Marvin was a great man with a kind heart. Always so funny and loved to joke around. He will be deeply missed.

Marvin had many good qualities and interests.  He was always ready to add enjoyment to lives of his friends.  Being a valuable member of the East High Class of 1959 and the Reunion Committee for that class, Marvin added his expertise to make life and events better for us all.  My prayers go out to his family.  He will be missed.

I know he's playing pool with the best in heaven including his long time friend Que Smith.  He was one of my best and dearest friends ever along with Que.   I miss them both dearly.  My deepest regards to his family members and all of the people he knew and loved and cared about.  There will never be another like him.  Don't race your motorcycle in heaven God might not turn the other eye to that.  Glad because you now longer have COPD.  Love you brother.

I remember him as being kind and calm, especially when my car would die on the worst weather day of the year and I called for help! Seriously he was generous and such a talented musician.
