Mary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 94 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born to Reamon and Lena (Perry) Niquette on October 12, 1931, in Manhattan, Kansas.
Mary enjoyed going to church, gardening and cats.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Atwater; brothers, Ernie and Smokey Niquette and great-granddaughter, Addison Adams. She is survived by her children, Connie (Bruce) Adams and Susan Wood; sister, Dorothy Branch; grandchildren, Schehera (Tom) Oakman, Chris (Kindra) Adams, Tyler (Jaime) Adams, Tobi Adams; six great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Rosie’s House and Phoenix Hospice for their care and devotion to Mary.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 10:00 am at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
