Mary Anita Boyd

Mary was born on April 26th, 1926, to Dennis and Ethel Schneider in Westphalia, Kansas. The family moved to Burlington, Kansas where Mary graduated from high school and later worked as a phone switch operator.

In 1947, Mary married the love of her life, Medford Boyd. They moved to Wichita, Kansas where they were happily married for 63 years until his death in 2010. The union produced two children, Ronald (wife Linda) and Mervin (wife Sue); six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mary worked in food services at North High School and Mayberry Middle School.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who's only needs were her family, her beloved home of 60 years, her yard with all its flowers and her garage that she sat in and watched the world go by. As a strong and independent woman, she set an example for all who knew her and will be missed by everyone she touched.

A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and a graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM both at Resthaven and Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Gospels, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
