Mary Ellen McGuire, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family. She was born January 31, 1944, in Hays, Kansas, and at the age of 2 was adopted by her parents, William and Lorena McGuire of Summerfield, Kansas.
Mary was raised on a farm outside of Summerfield, where she loved milking the cows.
Mary was self employed as a 30 year owner of Dustbusters Cleaning Services of Wichita, Kansas. As her proudest accomplishment in her own words was, "owning my cleaning business and working damn hard."
As a woman of strong Catholic faith, she recited the Rosary daily and mentioned each person and everyone always praying for her family and friends. A true prayer warrior.
Mary enjoyed many years working at the Bingo Hall, working three nights a week. She also enjoyed many trips to the slot machines at the casino, especially the Polar High Roller. As a avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching college football on Saturday's, particularly the Nebraska Huskers & Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Lorena McGuire.
She is survived by: her children, Marilee (Gregg) Gibson of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Brian (Tonya) Schierkolk of Wichita, Kansas; her adopted son, Bradley Schierkolk; her brothers, Bernie (Sue) McGuire and David (Ruby) McGuire; her grandchildren, Austin (Cecilia) Schierkolk, Maci Gibson, Nathan (Brynn) Gibson, Luke (Elaina) Schierkolk; her great-grandchildren, Isidore Schierkolk and Agnes Schierkolk, and one on the way.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026; Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 North Socora Street, Wichita, Kansas 67212. Entombment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Wichita.

We know that Mary is in Heaven seeing and hearing all things beautiful, drinking a beer, and talking up a storm with Jesus.
