1930, in La Junta, Colorado, to parents Frank C. and Lillian F. Smith.
Mary graduated from East High School in Wichita, Kansas. She began a career at Innes Department Store (known today as Macy’s), and eventually was employed at Envision Industries in Wichita, Kansas. She was a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church in Wichita.
Mary married the love of her life, Joe G. Walker, and they shared nearly 50 wonderful years together before Joe’s passing in December, 2004.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband; parents, Frank and Lillian Smith of Wichita, Kansas; and her brother, Floyd D. Smith of Plano, Texas.
She is survived by her children, Kathy VanBuskirk, Kevin Walker; grandchildren, Tandra Smith, Shasta Walker; and nine great grandchildren, all of Wichita, Kansas.
A funeral service for Mary will be held on Monday, August 26, at 1:00 pm at Resthaven
