Maurita F. Caswell

Maurita (Rita) Faye Caswell (ne: Blackburn), was born Nov. 2, 1940 to E.E. and Opal Blackburn. She was the youngest of five siblings, Dale Blackburn, Maggi Crawford, Mary Hataway, and Bill Blackburn, and the loving wife of Larry Wayne Caswell with whom she celebrated 54 years as a loving couple before Larry’s death March 20, 2013.

Rita loved her husband Larry, and her children, Mark, Larry, and Cathi, but we suspect she loved her grandchildren the best of all. Nothing made her smile as wide or hug as tightly as one of her grandchildren. They could always count on Grandma Rita to love them unconditionally. Bryan, Jamie, Jordan, Zac, Maggi, and Brent loved their time spent with Grandma Rita and Grandpa Codge. Rita will be missed greatly by her children, and her beloved grandchildren.

Son, Mark Caswell (deceased), former daughter in law, Carol Hair, grandson Bryan Caswell (wife Deidre) and great-grandchildren Vyolet, Eleanor, Freyja, and Juniper; and, grandson Zac Caswell (wife Holly). Son Larry and daughter in law Kelly Caswell, granddaughter Jamie Connolly (husband Corey Connolly), and great grandchildren, Oliver, Grace, and Anna; and, grandson Jordan Caswell (wife Teana), great grandchildren Makayla, Ryleigh, and Leah. Daughter Cathi Sontag, former son in law Rodney Sontag, grandson Brent Sontag (wife Sarah), and granddaughter Maggie Sontag and great-grandchild, Trenton.

A memorial service for Rita will be held at Resthaven Mortuary and Memory Gardens, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS, 1:00pm, July 30.
