Melba loved traveling, reading, baking and shopping. She enjoyed fishing, roller skating, volleyball and just being outdoors. Melba married Richard Dial, October 30, 1965 and together they had 2 children: Michelle Danielle Dial-Dewey and Jason M. Dial.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mildred Johnson; her sister, Betty Jean York.
Melba is survived by her husband, Richard Dial; her sister, Lou Ann Abbott (Daryl); her daughter, Michelle Dial-Dewey (Stephen "Skip"); her son, Jason Dial (Tricia); her grandson, Austin Dial (Allison); her granddaughter, Loren Dial and her great-granddaughter, Stella.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 at 3:00 PM inside the chapel at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to Shriners Children, Children's Miracle Network and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
