Melba was born on a farm north of Arnold in western Kansas to George and Liddie Rauch. Melba attended school in Ranson, Kansas and moved around the United States raising her family during her time as a military wife. Melba worked in Aerospace engineering at Martin Marietta, and software programming at MCI Telecom during her time in Colorado Springs, CO. Melba loved living near the mountains, but she cherished time with family so she moved to Kansas in 1999, where she finished her career in
healthcare business management.
During her free time, Melba loved to knit, play golf, sing in the choir at church and spend time with her children, grandchildren and her dog, Beau.
Melba was preceded in death by her sister Darlene Kraft, and son Roger Roatch.
Melba is survived by children Randy (Tina) Roatch of Wichita, KS, Scott (Joey) Roatch of Ottawa, KS, daughter in law Jeanette Roatch of Gig Harbor, Washington, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Melba will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Life Change Church, 10225 E. Kellogg Drive, Wichita, KS 67207. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 3:00 PM at The Arnold Cemetery, Arnold, KS 67515. Meal to follow at 409 Vermont Ave, Ransom, KS, 67572.
