Bud was united in marriage to the love of his life, Doris A. Kahmeyer, on March 20, 1955, in Nashville, Kansas, and to this union four children were born, Shirley, Deanna, Melanie, and Brian.
Bud was employed with JI Case Manufacturing for many years until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was always there to lend a helping hand for his loving family.
Bud and Doris were active members of Ascension Lutheran Church where they served as charter members. Bud faithfully attended church for many years until his health started to decline.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; his two sisters, Irene Patterson & Bula Maples; and his brother, Darrel Allender.
He is survived by: his devoted wife of 68 years, Doris; his children, Shirley (Kenneth) Dirks, Deanna (Joe) Prenatt, Melanie (Carl) Witte, and Brian (Alan) Allender; his sister, JoAnn Cantrell; his brother, Dwyne Allender; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 North Tyler Road, Wichita, Kansas. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, in the Garden of Prayer.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 North Tyler Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212.
