

Melvin Curtis DuBois,85, Wichita, KS went to Heaven on October 9, 2015 peacefully in his sleep. Born in Peabody, KS. January 21, 1930. He was a loving son of Helen Irene West & George Francis DuBois. Graduated North HS class of '49. Some college after serving in the Army OC class #27 29th OC CO 1952. Married Georgene Fares 1955. Worked at Montgomery Wards until he opened his own business, Interior design & exterior contractor. There wasn't anything he couldn't do, or anyone he couldn't make laugh...he'll be remembered for that. Recently retired after 50+ years, to puttering around the flower gardens. Melvin was a member of the Motivators' Class at Central Community Church. He enjoyed his daughters, family & anything that involved his hands, gardening, pottery, stained glass & selfless in the aid of others. He looked at everyone as his friend. Survived by fiancé, Bertha Hein daughters, Margo (David) Walker & Janice Meinhardt sisters, Geraldine Howell & Irene Franks. Grandchildren, Michael Lee Russell II, Melina Hope Meinhardt, Mackenzy Faith Meinhardt & Mele Love Meinhardt great-grandchildren Andrew & Mikayla Russell, Jessica Steven & Justin Lies & great grand-children Xavier & Kaulin Mohika. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Smith & ex-wife Georgene DuBois. The memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Central Community Church.
