Michael H. Scott

Scott, Michael H., was 82 years old when he passed Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. Mike was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Arcadia, Kansas. He was married to his sweetheart and two-step partner Barbara Ellis on Aug. 16, 1953. Mike served in the United States Army as a Corporal from 1953-1955. He worked as a Boeing machinist for forty years before retiring. During his life, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and watching sports. His favorites were NBA, WSU, and KU basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilson Harper Scott and Mary Evelyn Scott (Guttmann), as well as his loving wife Barbara. He is survived by his brothers Jon Scott of Corinth, TX, Steven Scott of Ft. Collins, CO, Anthony Scott of Coulterville, CA; daughters, Dawn Michelle Carroll, Julie Ann Matteson; Son Michael H. Scott; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Friday Jan. 30 from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services held Saturday Jan. 31, 2:00 p.m., both at Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita, KS. Mr. Scott was a supporter of The National Children's Cancer Society and KPTS Public Broadcasting. Donations in memory of Michael Scott to either these two worthy entities are greatly appreciated by his family.
