OBITUARY

Millicent Mary Werth

November 21, 1925August 23, 2020

On Sunday, August 23, 2020, Millicent Mary Werth, (Millie) devoted wife and loving mother of eight children passed away at the age of 94. Millie was born on November 21st, 1925 in La Crosse KS to Joe and Margaret Breit, married the love of her life Elmer Joseph Werth on November 11th, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, and three grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, 8 children, 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was very proud of her eight children and enjoyed raising them, seeing them graduate and become adults. She was a great cook and somehow knew how to make everything from scratch without a recipe. Millie and Elmer were involved in St. Margaret Mary Parish, volunteered often and help build the church and school. All her children attended school there. She took great pleasure sewing individual baby blankets for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. You could find Millie spending all summer weeding, watering and tending to her beautiful flowers. Millie worked as a nursing assistant at St. Francis Hospital until she retired. Then continued to care for the elderly in nursing homes and private homes until she fully retired at the age of 85. A Rosary followed by Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 31st at St. Margaret Mary at 10 am.

To my beautiful mother in law who I adored dearly. Ty for everything you taught me, the stories, the friendship, and the laughter. You were truly an amazing woman. Ty for being a grandma(3), great grandma(3), and a great great grandma (1) in my family. Even to the the babies you didn’t get to meet or know. I know you would have loved them. You always treated mine as yours even though not by blood. That meant more to me than you’ll ever know. I will cherish you in memory and never forget you. Fly free beautiful angel. See you one day in heaven.

My thoughts and prayers to my cousins with the loss of your Mom. I have so many great memories. Her style and grace were beyond compare. Never without her hair done and her make-up on. Aunt Millie had some many wonderful talents and had a true gift with gardening. I will never forget her backyard full of peony bushes. They were the envy of all us. She always kept in touch with me and for that I will be forever grateful. Aunt Millie you will be truly missed. God's blessing to all.
Love to everyone,
Debbie

This beautiful woman and her family are so very, very dear to me and my family!! They are all part of my earliest childhood memories and these are some of my favorites. Like when Bill & I could go explore the forest (K-15 and Pawnee) or when Jay, Char, Phyllis, Gale or Joette would babysit me and my sister Dana. Millie always made me feel so special!! I could go on and on about this awesome family!
You all are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate the wonderful life of your Mom-may she rest in peace.

My condolences to your family. Millie was such a sweetheart. I absolutely adored her. And my husband did, too, even though they never met! Millie used to bring something in to me when she came to see me - a flower or two from her garden, cookies, or banana bread. She was an absolute delight to work with, and it always made my day when she would walk into my office with that beautiful smile of hers.

She was so proud of her kids, and her face would light up in the biggest smile talking about them. You were all lucky to have her, and she was blessed to have you as well.

Peace be with you.
