

Walling, Naomi Frances (Young), 93 years young, left this life on October 15, 2011. She was born April 16, 1918 in Watauga, SD, the daughter of Warren James and Frances Edna (Davis) Ring. The Ring family relocated to Morristown, SD in 1934. Following graduation from high school, she earned her teacher certification and taught elementary school in South Dakota. She married Myrle K. Young in 1938 in Morristown, SD, and the family moved to Wichita, KS in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1974. Naomi was a homemaker first and enjoyed reading, music, playing Canasta and Bridge and loved to go dancing. She continued to be interested in vocabulary and grammar throughout her life and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She cherished times spent with family. She was an active member of the Altar Society and the Harvest House at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald J. Young; grandson, Jon Allan Blubaugh; brothers, Earl Ring and Bernard Ring; and sister, Dorothea (Ring) Burke. She is survived by spouse, Kennett Walling (married in 1976); daughter, Marilyn Heath (Alan) of Lawrence, KS; sons, Dick Young (Patricia) and Terry Young (Renee) of Wichita; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and nieces: Sharon Novak, Hugo, MN; Marlys Petersen, Bismarck, ND; Donna Mattern and Lorrie Ternes, McIntosh, SD. Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2701 South Pattie, Wichita. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita. Rosary 7 p.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
