Norma R. Wheeler passed on October 31, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on November 22, 1941 to Floyd and Ella Southerland in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
She married the love of her life Dean R. Wheeler on May 15, 1959 and together they shared three children; Donna, John and Chris.
Norma was strong in her christian faith. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, dining out to eat and decorating the home. Norma enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, daughter Donna and siblings; Winona, Velma, Leon, Kaye and Roy.
She leaves behind her two sons John (Chelle) Wheeler, Chris Wheeler; grandchildren Joey (Michelle) Nail, Sara (Adrian) Pavlick, Amanda (Steven) Whapelhorst, and Amelia (Tyler Taylor) Wheeler; great-grandchildren Lorenzo Nail, Lucy Pavlick, Lauren Pavlick, and Lea Pavlick, Kristyn Whapelhorst, Austin Whapelhorst, Madison Whapelhorst, and Logan Taylor; one great-great grandchild Kaylani Hiatt.
A visitation will be held on Thursday November 5, 2026 from 5PM-7PM at Lakeview Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, Kansas 67206. A celebration of life will be held on Friday November 6, 2026 at 11AM following a graveside both at Lakeview Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, Kansas 67206.
