Olive was born in Carlyle, KS, graduated from Iola High School and attended Kansas State University, earning a B.A. Degree.
Olive married her best friend, husband Don Moehring, while they both finished college, then upon graduation, they resided in Wichita. She was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at KSU, a member of P.E.O., Chapter EI, honorary member of the Kansas Saddle Horse Association, where she was a past president and board member. Olive loved horses and enjoyed showing both hunt and western Pleasure.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Olive Brainard, husband Don Moehring, brother John R. Brainard, sisters Kathryn and Mary Dean.
She is survived by sister Pat Gurtler of Newport News, Virginia, son Craig Moehring (Barbara) of Wichita, KS, grandson Chris Moehring, step-grandson Jeremy McCune (Jessica), great-granddaughter Cheyenne, all of Wichita, daughter Susan Winterman (Rich), grandson Zachary and granddaughter Savanna of Overland Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Reformation Lutheran Church and the Wichita Children's Home.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Lakeview from 6-8pm.
Funeral service at Reformation Lutheran Church, 7601 E. 13th St., Wichita, Friday, September 3, at 10:30am.
Graveside service to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
