Olivia A. (Mosqueda) Vargas Goodall, 82, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born November 10, 1942 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Julio Antonio and Amelia (Rincon) Mosqueda.
As a woman of strong faith; she was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Julio and Amelia Mosqueda; her husbands, Bill Vargas Sr. and John Goodall; her daughter, Melissa Vargas Smith; her son, Bill Vargas, Jr.; her sisters, Mary Pacheco, Helen Corona, and Oralia Mosqueda; her brothers, Mike Mosqueda, Pete Mosqueda, Sr., Pablo Mosqueda, Julio Mosqueda Jr, and Hector Mosqueda Sr.
She is survived by: her daughter, Mary Louise Vargas (Joe) Barthell of Wichita, KS; her son, Dominic Goodall of Newton, KS; her grandchildren, Sgt. Isaiah B. (Caitlyn) Thaw, Essence Dickinson, Aniayah Dickinson, Rashad Dickinson, Tyler (Caitlyn) Smith, Gabriella Goodall, Claudia Goodall, and Anthony Goodall; her sisters, Susan Mosqueda of Newton, KS, Rebecca (Jess) Garza of San Antonio, TX, Rosalinda Galle of Tampa, FL, and Isidra Boroughs of San Luis Obispo, CA; along with 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
No viewing will be held; cremation has taken place.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025; Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 421 South Ash Street, Newton, Kansas 67114. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
