Oma "Polly" Pauline Howell

Oma "Polly" Pauline Howell, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Polly was born May 31, 1936 the daughter of Harold Percy and Amestine Vanderslice in Wichita, Kansas. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John D. Howell; and sister, Connie Rock. Survivors include: children, Judy Worrell-Wilson (Jimmy Wilson), J. Nicholas (Becky), Kevin (Cindy); grandchildren, Ryan (Grant) Worrell, Brett (Stefanie) Worrell, Maggie (Patrick) Engemann, John Howell, Ashley (Cole) Hesse, Parker Howell, Nathan Wilson; great grandchildren, Adelia, Isabel, and EllaGrace Engemann, John Rodger Worrell, Pierce Hesse, and Palmer Worrell. Her greatest joy was sitting in the stands watching her children and grandchildren compete in football, wrestling, soccer, track, gymnastics, and baseball. She had a dear group of friends, "the Golden Girls", that continued to get together over the years. Recitation of the Rosary 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23; Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford Lane, Wichita; burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Charities, and Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School.
