Bates, Palmer Lee, 85, retired truck driver went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife on March 14, 2013. Palmer was preceded in death by his wife, Montie and brothers, Les and Theo Bates. He is survived by his son, Jack (Chelsey) Bates of Wichita; daughters, Pamela (Allan) Pendleton of Wichita, Cheryl Bates of Mulvane; sister, Earleen (Herbert) Free of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Kimberly (Allen) Farmer of Whitewater, Casey Pendleton of Wichita, Chris Bates of Park City, Donnie Bates of Park City, Zachary Province of Haysville, Shandee Province of Wichita and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation with family to receive friends is 6 to 8 pm Sunday and funeral service is 1:00 pm Monday, March 18 at Resthaven Mortuary.
