

She and her older brother, Kenneth, grew up in Wichita in the 30's. She graduated from East High School in the class of 1948. She attended Friends University for two years during which time she met a young aeronautical engineer studying at Wichita University named William PD Wilson, Jr whom she married in 1950. They had two children, William PD Wilson, III and Patricia Louise Wilson. The family lived in Wichita while Bill worked as an engineer variously at Boeing, Beech, and Cessna. She was also active with her father, George, in his insurance agency. While doing so, she obtained various insurance qualifications.
In the 1960's she was able to finish her college degree at Friends University. She graduated in 1966 with a BA in Home Economics, minors in Bible and English, and a teaching certificate. After teaching for only a short time, she began in a new created position at K.G. & E. in their educational outreach program as a Home Economics Specialist. It was the insurance business that drew her back when she formed a new business under the name Central Insurance and Financial Services. The business thrived under her guidance. She was a member and eventually President of the Wichita Independent Business Association, Soroptomist International, National Association of Women Business Owners and YMCA.
She was active on the Board of the Wichita Children's Home, an organization that her grandmother helped to establish in Wichita. She served at Friends University in Alumni and Delta Rho Alpha Nu society activities.
She obtained her private pilot's license in the late 1970's and continued as an active general aviation pilot becoming a member of the national association of women fliers known as the " Ninety-nines". During this time, she owned her own plane flying frequently for both business and pleasure.
In 1985 she and her husband, Bill divorced. She met and married attorney James Hobson, together they enjoyed life and flying until his death. Later, Pat met and married Hiram Rank with whom she was active in the Shrine and Daughters of the Nile. Their time together was happy and harmonious until Hiram's passing in 2010.
She continued to be active as a member of East Minster Presbyterian Church, Ambassadors, Delta Rho sorority, The Retired Officers Wives (TROW), Assistance League and the still active Reunion Group of the 1948 class of East High. In 2020 she sold her house of 60 plus years and retired to the Kansas Masonic Home. There she resided, living independently until the time of her death May 27, 2021.
Pat was proceeded in death by her parents, George J Garver and Jennie Garver; her brother, Kenneth Garver; and her husbands, William PD Wilson Jr., James D Hobson, and Hiram E. Rank; her son-in-law Loren Tracy III.
She is survived by her children, William P.D. Wilson, III (Caryl), and Louise W. Morris (Pete); her grandchildren, Morgan Tracy, Sam Morris (Mackenzie); and her great grandchildren, Loren Tracy IV, Boaz Tracy, Valor Tracy, Isla Tracy, David Morris, and Story Morris.
In lieu of flowers Pat has requested donations be made to any of the following organizations: The Wichita Children's Home, Friends University, Youth Horizons or Shriners Plane of Mercy. Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 10:30am.
