Peter married the woman of his dreams, Editha Nichols, and together they had one son Jonathan Nichols.
Peter, like his wife, was a generous person and often liked to leave large tips to waiters and grocery baggers at the Commissary. He enjoyed cooking food and would often be found cooking Filipino and Greek food in their house. Peter also enjoyed talking to people and he always had a story to tell. Like Editha, his favorite pastime was visiting the casino and playing slot machines. Las Vegas, Nevada was his favorite vacation spot and because he did not like to fly, he would load up the car with Editha and Jonathan and drive 19 hours to be there. Peter served 21 years in the United States Air Force and could often be found wearing his beat up Air Force Veteran hat. Peter was a caring and fun person with a little bit of a mean streak.
He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, and father.
Peter is survived by his one son Jonathan Nichols; his daughter-in-law Morgan Nichols, and his close family and friends.
A memorial service for Peter will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 3 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
Following the memorial service will be an interment at Resthaven Garden of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
