January 14, 1936 - May 10, 2026
Jean was born in Cunningham, Kansas, 90 years ago to Herman and Pauline Rohling. She later attended Sacred Heart Academy Catholic School in Wichita, where she graduated high school. Jean then married Leo Stuckey, together they welcomed three children. Following Leo’s passing in 1978, Jean worked for 17 years in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School cafeteria, where she loved cooking, but also formed lifelong friendships with her coworkers.
In 1980, Jean married Kenneth McGregor, together they shared more than 42 wonderful years filled with travel, gardening, and making memories with their children and grandchildren. Jean especially loved traveling all over the world and spending time with her large family, especially the annual reunions. Jean and Kenneth enjoyed outings to the casino and playing rummy with each other. There wasn’t a grandchild’s sporting event, activity, or special moment she would miss if she could help it. She had a bottomless candy bowl, full of small candy bars for anyone that stopped by.
Even after retiring from cooking, Jean continued serving others by volunteering at The Lord’s Diner alongside Kenneth, something she deeply enjoyed. She was also a devoted and active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for more than 50 years, where her faith and serving others were very important to her throughout her life.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Susan (Steve) Talbot, Lori (Scott) Hampel; sons, Steve (LoriJo) Stuckey, Shawn (Julie) Stuckey, and Gary McGregor. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Shelbie, Skyler (Emily), Jack, Kate Stuckey, Joram and Alena Talbot; brothers, Kenny (Alvina) Rohling, Duane Rohling, Virgil Rohling, Jim (Kathy) Rohling; sisters, Betty Rohling and Judy (Eric) Schnittker; sister-in-law Pat Rohling (Don, deceased), sister-in-law Marlene (Ted) Pendleton, and many nieces and nephews.
