Loffland, Richard Allen, 56, died Saturday, August 21, following an extended illness. Born in Wichita in 1953, he lived much of his life in Wichita. He and Dana, his wife of 34 years, lived the first 5 years of their marriage in San Francisco before returning to Wichita in 1980. Richard owned and operated Frontier Electronics for 15 years before joining Rockwell Collins as a senior technician. He was a loving husband and father, brother, Boy Scout leader, and served for many years as Sound Technician at First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by Dana, of the home; son Eric and wife Julie, of Roeland Park, son Ryan, and daughter Libby, of Wichita; and brother, John and wife Jennifer, of Newalla, OK. He was preceded in death by parents, Elmo Gene Loffland and Phyllis Rogers Loffland, and younger brother, Robert Eugene. Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Saturday, August 28 at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or BSA Troop 420; contact Resthaven Gardens of Memory for contact information.
