Oberg, Richard Franklin, Jr., 81, passed away on April 21, 2015. Richard retired from the Navy after 20 years of service and given his high work ethic, he later retired from Watkins Inc. as a warehouse supervisor. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Oberg and sister, Lucille Vekved. Survivors include sons Robert (Omega) Oberg, Richard (Nikki) Oberg of Westerly, RI; daughters, Mary Oberg, Marion Tanyi of Hope Valley, RI, Marilyn (Ronald) Auernheimer of Halstead, KS, Melanie (Doug) Woodard of Westerly, RI; nephew, John (Sandy) Vekved of Becker, MN; niece, Mary (Keith) Bartlett of Fort Ripley, MN; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 5-7 pm. Funeral service is Monday, April 27 at 1:00 pm, both at Resthaven Mortuary.
