He is survived by his adoring wife of 34 years, Shelia; children Wendy (Mike) Castillo, Jim (Jan) Orange, Eric (Kate) Orange, Alicia ( Bill Hayes) Orange and Stacey (Kayla) Orange; totally loved step kids Scott Clapp, and Jeannie Stringer; 14 grandkids and 24 great-grandkids.
Dicks heart was family, his soul was music. He taught himself guitar at 14 and went on to have his own bands; Western Wranglers and The Cavaliers. He played through his life at many venues, jam sessions, wedding receptions, senior centers and backyard get-togethers. Shelia sang with him for the last 15 years. He built dune buggies from a pile of rusty pipes to run with his adopted family, the Shipmans and traveled out to many dunes across the country. He and Shelia were both retired from Boeing and then were full time RVers for 4 years. He was a bow hunter and golfer. He was a larger than life guy! He never passed by someone he thought he might know. He laughed hard and loved harder! He never had an enemy. If he did, he'd punch them.
He'll be terribly missed by all..... but if you hear a booming voice or an onery laugh, you'll think of him. He and Shelia felt extremely blessed for their years together and memories!
