Richard Alan (Stansill) Powell

Richard died of a massive heart attack in his home at the age of 63. His birth name was Richard Alan Stansill. His parents were Dorothy M . Waldo and Mack R Harris (Bixby, Ok). He never met his father. His twin died at birth.

He was adopted in the family after Dorothy lost her rights. Ray and Alice Powell of Wichita adopted him in 1970. He married Elsie Rivera in 1986. They divorced shortly after he returned from his deployment to Kuwait (about 1990).

Even as a child, he was a very charming dreamer. In the 70’s, he sold a stick of Wrigley’s gum for a dime. Later in life, he evaded the police by speeding on railroad tracks. He lived in North Dakota and Wichita. He spent his adult life seeking people to support him financially and enable his addictions. He is survived by 2 sisters along with nieces and nephews, There will not be a memorial.
