Rita Martina Dendurent, 76, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025. She was born May 18, 1948 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Martin and Josephine (Galvan) Banuelos.
Rita attended St. Mary's Cathedral High School of Wichita, where she graduated with the class of 1966.
Rita was united in marriage to David Kenneth Dendurent on August 19, 1972, and to this union two children were born, Christopher and Michelle. During her working career, she worked 25 years for USD 259 in the HR Department.
As an lifelong Catholic; she was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Wichita; and was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of Wichita. During her free time, her favorite times were to be traveling with her husband and spending time with her family & friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Martin and Josephine Banuelos; her sister, Toni DeFalco; her brother-in-law, John Fletcher; along with her Carter boy.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 52 years, David; her children, Christopher (Gemma) Dendurent and Michelle (Josh) Holmes; her siblings, Joan Hendricks, Nita Fletcher, and Marty Banuelos; her grandchildren, Gabriel Holmes, Bella Holmes, Isaiah Holmes, AnneMarie King, Dax David Dendurent, Elise Dendurent, Sienna Carmine, Madison Jones, and Corbin Simons; along with 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Cooper.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025; Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 15, 2025, both at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3642 North Ridge Road, Wichita, Kansas 67205. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Wichita.
