Coykendall, Robert Lee, 83, passed away February 22, 2013. Born and raised on a farm in Duquoin, KS, he was a teacher and principal in elementary schools in Cheney, KS, Moorpark, CA and Wichita, KS. In retirement, Bob enjoyed woodworking, stained glass, gardening, RVing and collecting, building and repairing clocks. He also liked cowboy music, biscuits and gravy and KU Basketball. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dick and Don Coykendall and sister, Wanda Coykendall. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; daughter, Debbie (David) Zizzo of Norman, OK; sons, Robert W. (Lori Davis) Coykendall of Haysville; Greg Coykendall (partner Rob Givens) of Wichita; brother, Jon Coykendall; grandchild, Katie Coykendall and numerous other relatives and friends. A celebration of Bob’s life will be at 1:00 Friday, March 1, at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lord’s Diner or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
