He attended grade school in Burrton, Kansas, and graduated from East High School in Wichita in 1954. He went on to graduate from the University of Wichita (WSU) with a degree in Engineering. Bob was a Delta Upsilon/Men of Webster.
Bob was married for 62 years to Judith (Judy) Ann Motter. In 2016 Bob and Judy moved to Larksfield Place in Wichita. In July 2019 Judy Hill passed away and on Friday, March 13, 2020, Bob married Larksfield resident Susan G. Howell.
He is survived by his second wife, Larksfield resident Susan (Howell) Hill, and his sister Marilyn (Hill) Shadid, nephew Scott Shadid, nieces Jamie Shadid and Kristin Shadid, all of Colorado, and son-in-law Rob Howell of Anthony, Kansas.
Bob worked his entire career at Boeing, starting at 18 years old filling the milk machines. After 39 years at various locations including Seattle, WA; Atwater, CA; Wallingford, PA and Wichita, he retired in 1995 as a senior manager. One of his favorite projects at Boeing was the V-22 Osprey.
In retirement he enjoyed playing golf, attaining six holes-in-one over the years. For more than 25 years he was a Midian Shriner and a member of the High Twelve Club 376-Keystone. He helped transport children to and from Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. Bob was also a fan of the Shockers, the KC Royals and the KC Chiefs.
A memorial will be held Monday, February 10, 2-4pm at Larksfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Larksfield and/or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
