Robert "Bob" D. Schlegel

Schlegel, Robert D. "Bob", 82, passed away on Saturday August 18, 2018. Bob was born June 2, 1936 in La Crosse, Kansas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. United States Air Force Veteran, long-time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Former employee of Domestic Laundry and Cleaners, Aramark and Jafco Inc. He loved time with family, fishing, camping and joking around. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Elsie Schlegel and his wife of 58 years, Jo El Schlegel. Survivors include his children, Brian Schlegel, Cheryl (Julius) Danuatmodjo, grandchildren, Elise (Adam) Koontz, Christian Schlegel, Chelsea Schlegel, great-grandchildren, Addison Koontz, Callum Schlegel, sister, Donna (Hal) Stembridge, nephews, Scott DuPont, Brad (Heidi) DuPont, niece, Jessica Hill, faithful pet, Jack Jack. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm on Thursday August 23, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral Service will be 10am on Friday August 24, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Road, Wichita. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Holy Cross Braille Ministry or Kansas Humane Society.
