Roger Dee Woley

Roger Woley, age 85, passed away on September 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, knowledge, and devotion to his family.

Roger was born on December 16, 1940, in Centralia, Illinois, to Etta Louise Woley and Emmett Woley. He grew up with strong values of hard work, integrity, and dedication, qualities that guided him throughout his life.

One of the most cherished chapters of Roger's life began in kindergarten, where he first met Sandra Lee Valentine. Their lifelong connection blossomed into love, and Roger and Sandra were married in 1961. Together they built a life grounded in commitment, friendship, and family, sharing decades of memories, adventures, and unwavering support for one another while raising 3 children.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years beginning in 1963. During his military service, he was stationed in Davis, California. His service reflected the sense of duty, discipline, and perseverance that characterized his life.

Above all, Roger cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Sandie) Lee Woley; his son, David Anthony Woley; his daughter, Deeana Lynn Prettyman, and her husband, Bryan Prettyman; his grandchildren, Krysta Woley of Wichita, Kansas, Taylor Shope of Shawnee, Kansas, Cole Shope of Kansas City, Missouri, and Hailey Woley of Wichita, Kansas; and his great-grandchildren, Adam Shope, Violet Shope, and Benedict Shope, all of Shawnee, Kansas. He was preceded in death by son Michael Shawn Woley.

Roger will be remembered for his outgoing personality, wealth of knowledge, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and genuinely enjoyed sharing what he knew with others. Whether offering practical advice, teaching a skill, recounting stories from his life, or lending a helping hand, Roger took pride in passing along his knowledge and experience. His generosity, wisdom, and friendly nature touched the lives of many and created memories that will be treasured for generations.

Whether as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, or friend, Roger made a lasting impact on those around him. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His loved ones find comfort in the bond he shared with Sandie, the family they created together, and the many moments of laughter, love, and support that defined his life.

Roger will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.
