

Rollin Clyde Dillinger was born December 30, 1946, at Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas to Sidney Clyde Dillinger and Eva Delilah Tedrow Dillinger. Being the son of a Methodist Minister, he was raised in a number of parsonages in Kansas. He graduated from Brewster KS High in 1965, while the family lived on his grandfathers farm.
In his youth Rollin attended church camp every year he could. Then he was counselor and camp dean for a number of years as a young adult.
Rollin graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University, in Salina KS in 1969 with a A.B Degree in Literature and Composition, Secondary Education & Psychology and was certified to teach.
Being community minded, he was involved in civic organizations wherever he lived. Rollin took special satisfaction in providing leadership for a singles group in Dodge City. He was a member for the Eagles lodge serving as their Chaplin.
He received a Master of Divinity Degree from St Paul School of Theology in Kansas City Missouri in 1974.
On May 21, 1973 was United in marriage to Sara Elizabeth Bird in Kresge Chapel in the St. Paul campus in Leawood. The marriage lasted 20 years. To this union was born a daughter, Camilla Lamae and a son, Micheal Ray. They were always very precious to him.
For 27 years Rollin pastored in United Methodist Churches in Kansas– among them Morland, Studley, Esbon-Union Chapel, Linn-Marysville, Bushton, Sedgewick, Satanta, Kamorado-Neville, Jewell Parish (Burroak-Eshon-Odessa) 4 Point Star Parish (Great Bend- King Memorial- Albert- Pawnee Rock- Pleasant Hill) Offerele- Spearville Federated, Madison Ebenezer. While serving the Spearsville Federated Church Rollin supervised summer items from Princeton Theological Seminary. Obtaining continuing education at Princeton was a special joy.
Rollin was a people person and could often find some acquittance in common with whomever he met.
In 1998 he began as Pastor of the 1st congregational church in Maize KS, serving there for two years.
In 2001 Rollin became a member of the 1st metropolitan community church in Wichita.
In 2002 Rollin began working at Derby Walmart working for 10 years as a cashier until retirement. He worked as an Avon dealer for 10+ years.
In 2007, he became a member of Madison Ave. Christian Church in Wichita.
In 2014 he became a member of Pilgram Congregation U.C.C
In 2021 he became a member of the Haysville United Methodist Church.
Rollin is survived by his daughter Camilla North and Son Micah Dillinger, and three Grandsons Thomas North, Joshua North, and Daniel North.
Rollin is preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Eva, sisters Coralyn A. (Dillinger) Kauffman and Rosalie Delilah (Dillinger) Menhusen.
A Celebration of Life Service for Rollin will be held at Haysville United Methodist Church, 601 E Grand Ave, Haysville, KS 67060, Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
