Ronald L. Irion, age 87, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026. He was born on July 1, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas and was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Irion and Mildred (Joe) Maness; his brother, R. Darryl Irion. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Floy Raye, son Douglas A. Irion and wife Karen Lauritsen of San Luis Obispo, California; his daughter, Melissa L. Peugeot; his granddaughters, Paige and Lauren Peugeot of Prairie Village, Kansas.
Ron was a Petroleum Geologist with degrees from Wichita State University. He enjoyed a 50 year stint prospecting for Oil & Gas in Kansas and Oklahoma. On the weekends and holidays you could find him on Table Rock Lake with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on October 16, 2026 at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 8007 W. Maple Street, Wichita, Kansas 67209. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made out to Dementia Society of America, 188 N Main St, Doylestown, PA 18901.
