Ronald was a proud Air Force veteran, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, tinkering with mowers, and caring for his yard. He faithfully maintained the Nazarene church grounds for many years.
Ronald served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Rantoul, Illinois and Biloxi, Mississippi. He retired from Raytheon (formerly Beech Aircraft) after nearly 39 years of dedicated service.
Ronald was first married to Dorothy Huesner, and later married Corilee (Corie) Mitchell Davis on August 30, 1974. Ronald and Corie shared 50 loving years together and raised four children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Speer and Lorena L. Schroeder; his brother, Gary D. Speer; and one great-granddaughter, Dakota.
Ronald is survived by his wife Corie; his brother, Charles E. Speer and wife Carol; sons, Stephen Speer and wife Donna, Dr. James Speer and wife Julie, and Alan Speer and wife Abbie; daughter, Lisa; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A funeral service for Ronald will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside service in the Garden of Gospels, both at Resthaven Mortuary & Gardens of Memory 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
