

Sister Rose Therese Bahr, ASC 85, born March 1, 1930, the daughter of Frank W. and Mary Victoria Bahr. She passed away February 18, 2016. Sister Rose was a woman who wore many hats as she was former Academic Dean, Clinical Nursing at Sacred Heart College; hospital supervisor of St. Francis Hospital in Carlsbad, NM; Director of Nursing at St. Mary's Enid; Professor of Nursing at University of Kansas; Professor of Nursing and Chair Division of Community Health Nursing, Catholic Univeristiy of America in Washington, D.C.; Provinvial Councilor, ASC Leadership Team 1992-96; Nursing Lecturer at Kansas Newman College; Professor of Nursing at Newman University; Grant writer and fundraiser for Center for Health & Wellness and the Lord's Diner; Board Member for several organizatoins including Abstinece Education, Inc., Guadalupe Clinic, Inc., The Lord's Diner, Inc., Newman University, La Familia Community Center, Kansas Health Ethics and the Wichita Diocesan St. Katherine Drexel School Fund. Above all of these things, she also obtained PhD in Philosophy and MA in Nursing Education. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sister Francita Bahr, ASC; brothers, Herman, Vernon and Frank Bahr. Sister Rose is survived by her nephews, William Bahr of Bloomingdale, IL, Robert Bahr of Alexandria, VA and Thomas Bahr of Chester, VA; several cousins including, Sisters, Francella, Mary Ann, Jeannine, Teresa and Philomena Barh, ASC; a myriad of friends and colleagues; Sisters of the ASC Community. Welcoming of the Body: 2 p.m. with the Wake Service at 7 p.m. both on Wednesday, February 24; Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 25, all services will be held at the Chapel of the New Covenant, Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Wichita Center, 1165 Southwest Blvd. Interment at the Community Cemetery of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Wichita.
