Rosemary was born on September 16, 1931 in Pleasant City, Valley Township, Guernsey County, Ohio to Andrew L. Oakley and Sarah E. (Kirkbride) Oakley. She was adopted by Herman B. Cross and her mother's sister, Rose Mae (Oakley) Cross in Ohio, and brought to Cherryvale, Kansas during WWII. She graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1949. She was initially employed by Goldsmith's Department Store and later, the Fourth National Bank, both in Wichita. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Culkin.
Rosemary is survived by her nephews; Dennis W. Prothero of Park City, Kansas and Mark A. Culkin; her niece, Sharon R. White, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rosemary was a member of the Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church.
Rosemary will be interred next to her late husband, Harold D. Culkin, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209 on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Garden of Last Supper.
