Whetstone, Roy D., 55, passed away March 1, 2014. Roy was a Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, KU basketball and WSU basketball fan. He was a dog lover, former bass player and a family man who enjoyed making people laugh. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy R.; brother, Richard and brother-in-law, Les Howard. He is survived by his wife, Tammy; son, Madison (Breanna); daughters, Minta and Jayda; mother, Florence Whetstone; sisters, Theresa Howard, Renae Whetstone, Patti (David) Paul, Mary Sumner, Diana Whetstone; grandchild, Mikayla and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service is 3:00 pm Friday, March 7 at Resthaven Mortuary. Reception immediately following at St. Francis of Assisi in Stewardship Hall, 861 N. Socora St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Kansas Humane Society.
