Russell attended Wichita Public Schools. He was a graduate of Wichita South High School, where he met his future wife, Sherry Anne Blackburn, and the two were married on April 18, 1964.
Russell enjoyed fast cars and going to drag races. His biggest joy was to spend time with his family; especially attending his children and grandchildren's events.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Russell and Sue Bozarth; along with his sister, Marcia McGee.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 61 years, Sherry; his children, Shelly Bozarth, Jerry (Michelle) Bozarth, and Marci Meridith; his sister, Terecia Eskeli; his grandchildren, Brandon, Corey, Emilee, Elyse, Taylor, Cayden, Adrian, Alecia, Angelica, and Brooklyn; along with his great-grandchildren, Elliott, Ramsey, and Eleanor.
The casket will be open 30 minutes prior to the service.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209, with Pastor Tom Hawks officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Bruce Newton, Wichita.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Russell's name may be made out to: National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016.
