I am Don and Pauline Engle’s daughter. Since Ruth was the baby of the family, she was only 17 when I was born. Living on the east coast I only saw Aunt Ruth a few times. I remember she was so creative even then. Our Christmas packages had our names in big letters made of fancy patterned Scotch tape. (Unique back then). We thought that was so cool. One Christmas she made us 1950’s poodle skirts with fuzzy poodles sporting rhinestone collars. (My sister Kris and I were too young to have beehive hairdos and poodle skirts, so receiving them for Christmas added extra excitement.
My mom died at age 60, my dad at 87. I still miss them and wish I could call them with the latest earth shattering news. I know Ruth’s family will feel the same. Hugs to you all.

Vince and I send our deepest sympathies to the entire family of our Auntie Ruth. Aunt Ruth was my most favorite Aunt of all time and will be seriously missed by both of us. Aunt Ruth sewed my first Barbie clothes when I was only 8; meticulous in every piece. She then gave Vince and I a complete set of recipes when we married that we still use today. Aunt Ruth was a trailblazer for all women with her fabulous career in art and her shop in Newton. We were so lucky to have visited there many times and will forever remember her graciousness, beautiful smile and the way she appreciated each and every individual she influenced in her lifetime. Forever missed and forever loved.

Ruth was and will always be my favorite aunt. As a young man, I remember many stories shared by her and my mother (Dorothy) that would have made their mother's eyes roll. She was loving, giving, quick with a smile and encouragement. Her interest in my and my family's activities never waned. Jill, meeting Ruth later in her life, also called Ruth "my favorite aunt". This was the effect Ruth had on all of us.
I will miss you Aunt Ruth.
My deepest condolences to her family members.

Aunt Ruth was my favorite aunt. I remember her warm, loving home full of animals. I had so much fun visiting as a child. Ruth had such a joyous manner and was always welcoming and kind. My deepest condolences to the family.
