Ryan Christopher Driskill was born in Wichita KS at St Joseph Medical Center on a hot July day-the 23rd to be exact in 1994. He came into this world as a big bundle of joy to parents Robert and Kristine and big sister Rebecca. He left this world on a cold, blustery day , March 17th, 2021.
He leaves behind his wife Alexandra Sperle whom he wed on January 10th 2019 in a courthouse ceremony. Also to mourn the loss are grandparents Dennis and Jimmie Driskill of Wichita, KS; Roger and Paulette Mattingly, aunts Janelle Robertson (Joe) of Wichita, KS; Lisa Mattingly of Portland, OR; uncle Dan (Amy) Driskill; cousins Gabriel and Samuel Robertson and Dax and Dawson Driskill; step mother Amy Driskill, stepfather Dan Alvarez, step brother Zachary Alvarez and stepsister Brianna Alvarez (of Denver CO). Numerous extended family and friends.
Ryan was an intelligent, inquisitive, charming, caring person. He loved fishing, skateboarding, drumming, all kinds of music, cooking and most of all family.
He started his education at Mueller Elementary and went to Stucky Middle School. He graduated in 2012 from Wichita Heights High School and participated in wrestling (freshman year), Marching Band on the drum corps line, Jazz Band Ensemble and attended Butler County Community College studying in their culinary program but in typical Ryan fashion, decided that working full time in restaurants would better further his education. He was a hard worker and worked at many local restaurants. How many of you out there can say you worked at 3 different restaurants in the same location?
He was a child of God, baptized and confirmed at Risen Savior Lutheran Church and even as a middle schooler was a drummer in the praise band. His chosen confirmation verse (by him in 6th grade): Psalm 23:4, NIV: "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
He had a smile and a laugh like no other, he was always cracking jokes. He loved to travel and see new places. He loved animals and had a big heart for them- on several occasions bringing home strays to help find their owners. Ryan never knew a stranger-only friends he had not met yet.
He was preceded in death by grandmothers Sharon Mattingly and Sue Mattingly. And his beloved pugs Arnold and Willie.
