

Sandra Dee “Sandee” Francel, 82, left this earth to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2022. Sandee was born August 21, 1939 to Earle and Frances Miller in Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Miller, sister Billie Lee, and daughter Dianna Lynn Clark. She is survived by her husband Joseph Paul Francel, Jr, daughter Cynthia Leah (Michael) Masterson, of Denver CO, son Jerry Allen (Bear)(Lori) Folger, Jr. of Bluffton SC, step-daughter Karin Francel, and step-son Joseph Paul Francel, III both of Wichita, grandchildren, Maggie (Ian) McClearn, Christopher (Taylor) Masterson, Branden (Ashley) Clark, James (Danae) Clark, Kyle (Angelica) Clark, Shannon (Tim) Coleman, Shawn Folger, Natalie (Ray) Stone, Daniel (Roxanne) Voges, Jonathan (Allison) Voges, Matthew (Caleshe) Voges. Sandee also had several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sandee retired from Wesley Medical Center in 1992 after 28 years of service. At the time of her retirement she was Director of Continuing Medical Education of the ob/gyn residency program where she and her team managed ob/gyn education conventions all around the country including a board prep course for 3 years in New Orleans. In retirement she developed a business in Desktop Publishing, and with two friends they developed a “board game” to help caregivers better understand how to care for and manage patients with a dozen different illnesses, including Dementia, Cancer, Diabetes, etc.
Sandee loved to travel and, with Joe, traveled to over 50 countries.
Sandee was very active at Botanica the Wichita Gardens for many years serving on the Board and as President of Friends of Botanica. She and Joe were Master Gardeners and volunteered many, many hours at the extension. Sandee published a photo book about Trees for South Central Kansas.
She had a wonderful association with Eastminster Presbyterian Church, serving as Women’s Bible Study coordinator and church Deacon.
A celebration service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, 10:00am, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Road, Wichita, KS 67206.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church - Women’s Studies.
