

Sandy grew up in Kansas and graduated from Wichita West High School in 1964. She went on to build a long and respected career, eventually retiring as the Executive Director of the Spirit/Boeing Employees Association, where she faithfully served many employees and their families over the years.
Sandy was married to her beloved husband, David (Dave) Smith, for 36 years. Together they built a loving family that was the center of her life. She is survived by her son, David Wayne Smith and his wife Minda; and her daughter Diana Lynn Meister and her husband John Meister; as well as her long-time friend and companion James Eisenhour.
She was a devoted grandmother to Jamie Seaman and her husband Jonathan, Brian Smith and his wife Abby, Jacob Meister, Shawn Smith, and Nicholas Meister. Sandy also leaves behind three cherished great-grandchildren, with more blessings expected in the future.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dave Smith, and her sisters, Barbara Ellen Laizure and Mary Grace Smith,
Her faith was an important part of her life. Sandy attended Grace Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and encouragement in her Christian walk.
Sandy loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time camping and fishing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, devotion to her family, and steadfast faith.

Sandy’s legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th at Resthaven Mortuary from 5 PM-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 13th, 2026 with a graveside service following at Resthaven.
