Sandra "Sandy" Kathleen (Barbeau) Heiman, 70, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 25, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1956 in Halstead, Kansas August 2, 1956 to Paul Barbeau and Rosaline (Thimmich) Barbeau.
For Sandy, love arrived in an everyday moment that became extraordinary: she met Chris Heiman at his job, Mr. Tire, when she stopped in to have a tire fixed. That meeting grew into a lasting partnership, and Sandy and Chris shared 23 years of marriage—years marked by loyalty, tenderness, and the kind of commitment built through daily life.
Sandy dedicated her working life to caring for others. As an LPN, she served at St. Francis Hospital for 50 years, offering patients and colleagues the reassurance of experience, the dignity of professionalism, and the steady presence of someone who understood that compassion is both a skill and a calling.
She was a proud mother to her daughters: Sarah Esgro (born December 9, 1978), Jennifer Bedford (born January 12, 1977) and Crystal Fox (born September 6, 1985). Sandy loved her family dearly, and nothing mattered more to her than her grandchildren, who were truly the center of her world. She showed that love not only in words, but in her consistent presence—especially in the stands at her grandchildren’s soccer games, where her support was felt in every moment she showed up.
In quieter hours, she found comfort and enjoyment in diamond art and in simple evenings of watching Netflix, appreciating the peace of home and the small pleasures that make life feel full.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rose Barbeau; her brother, Randy Barbeau; her spouse, Chris Heiman; and her daughter, Sarah Esgro; and her brother-in-law, Jim Mann.
Sandy is survived by her siblings: Mike (Carol) Barbeau, Cindy Patry, Sharon Mann, Virginia (Alan) Smarsh, Mark (Pam) Barbeau, Russell (Kris) Barbeau; her daughters, Jenni (Malcolm) Bedford and Crystal (Isaac) Fox; her grandkids: Shelby Esgro, Dominic (Jessica) Smalls, Quintez (Juana) Crockett, Jayden Esgro, Rowan Fox and Dresden Fox; her great-grandkids: Serenity, LaNez, LaNiya, Liliana, Alaya, Reyna and Lailani; and many nieces and nephews.
