

McClure, Scott, 67, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Fri. Sept. 30, 2016 in Wichita. Scott was born the son of Coe and Verna McClure on April 13, 1949 in Los Angeles, CA. Scott and Carol McClure were united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1971 in Modesto, CA. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage. Scott retired after 35 years from Lucent Technologies in California. Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing and football. Scott was truly generous not just with material things (which he was) but with his time and friendship. Everyone who interacted with Scott came away with something, even if it was just a new joke and smile. He was an authentic man and will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Coelinda McClure, uncle, Louis McClure. Survivors include his loving wife, Carol McClure, children, Mackenzie Dumont and her husband Carlton, Justin McClure, sister, Coryna Fritts and her husband Don, sister-in-law, Marsha Botterweck and her husband Thayne, mother-in-law, Thelma Guinn all of Wichita, many nieces, nephews, cousins and his only great-niece, Heidi. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Saturday Oct. 15, 2016. Funeral services will 2pm on Sun. Oct. 16, 2016 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
