Sr. Janice Friess, ASC

Sr. Janice Friess, ASC, 94, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Sr. Janice was born the daughter of Mathias and Mayme (Roths) Friess on June 9, 1928 in Ransom, KS. Janice professed her first vows on July 1, 1946. Throughout her life she worked as a Elementary Teacher, Certified Nurse Assistant and Chaplain at St. Francis Hospital. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Sisters: Laurene Marvin, Marjorie Flax, Janice Hornung and Anna Mae Ferguson; Brothers: Cletus, Lewis, Eugene, Bernard, Elmer, Donald, Daniel and Warren. Survivors include her Sisters: Cathy Ator, Mary Frances Flax and Rosella McLain; Brothers: Harold, Fred and Maurice (Debbi); Sisters in-law: Beverly, Rita and Nancy Friess; a myriad of cousins, nieces & nephews as well as great nieces and nephews survive; Sister Tarcisia Roths, ASC (cousin) and all Sisters of the ASC Community. Welcoming will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Wake Service will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Rosary will be Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10:30 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM. All services will be held at the Chapel of the Woman of the New Covenant, Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Wichita Center, 1165 Southwest Blvd., Wichita, KS. Interment at the Community Cemetery of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Wichita. A memorial fund has been established for the retirement of Sisters, ASC, 1165 Southwest Blvd., Wichita, KS 67213.
