Stanley "Stan" Crawley, a lifelong Newton, KS resident, went home to his heavenly Father on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the age of 76 with family by his side. He was born June 1, 1949, to L.L. "Bud" Crawley and Betty (Roberts) Crawley, both of Newton.
Stan was a graduate of Newton High School, class of 1967, where he was active in vocal music and varsity football. He served six years in the United States Air Force National Guard, including a tour of active duty in Korea.
Stan worked as a truck driver for companies in Newton and Wichita, as well as over the road during vocational years. He was a diligent and faithful worker, always ensuring that he attended to his part in providing for his family. He was a deeply committed husband, a joyful and present father, and a tenacious lover of people from all walks of life.
Stan is renowned for his life of service and love for people. He volunteered and served in numerous capacities, starting as a volunteer soccer coach for his sons. For the last 30 years, Stan served in numerous ministries, tirelessly and faithfully working to serve those who needed help beyond what was comfortable for many. He organized and facilitated groups through Celebrate Recovery, led peer mentoring programming for many in the community, and often visited and served those that were incarcerated, or were trying to transition from incarceration to life with a new start.
Most importantly, Stan would constantly share his life with Jesus as the solution to so many needs, while always taking time to do so in a way that demonstrated his true love for those that most needed it. His life was one of faithfulness, service, and impact.
