Stephen Mark Jordan, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. A life-long Wichitan, he was born to Earnest Allyn Jordan, Sr., and Doris Irene (Holman) Jordan on April 12, 1949. He was raised on a ten acre farm on Maple Street in a nurturing, loving and caring family devoted to each other. Stephen studied Fire Science at Wichita State University after graduating from high school and proudly served as a Wichita firefighter/first-responder from 1968-1979. He would eventually become an entrepreneur - innovating and owning Jordan Company, Inc., one of the midwest region's top commercial insulation companies since 1974, longtime member of WABA, Wichita Area Builders Association and ICAA, Insulation Contractors Association of America.
He is survived by the love of his life for 19 years, Christine Lebert; son, Stephen Mark Jordan, Jr.; daughter, Heidi (Brian) Richstatter; brothers, Earnest Allyn (Judy) Jordan, Jr., Mike (Pat) Jordan, and David (Kathy) Jordan; sisters, Lynn Bucher, Pamela (Cecil) Parrack, Kathy (Steve) Corrie; grandchildren, Sonnee C. Jordan, III, Thomas Jordan, and Nick Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Kendall Grace Fisher, Kade Alan Fisher, and Karter Stephen Fisher; he is also survived by the mother of his children, Sharlene Mathis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
Stephen loved his sweetheart, his family, cooking for them, gardening, fishing, and doing it all with music. He loved Shakespeare's quote, "If music be the food of love, play on!"
