What can I say about my big brother that hasn't already been said here, except he was my big brother. We had our ups and downs, but he always had my back. His typical manner was not to brag or boast. 51 years after returning from Vietnam, he told me one story. Maybe because I didn't ask. I could feel the pain he hid. He was a quiet American Hero, receiving our Nation's third highest medal for heroism under fire, The Silver Star. He loved his wife, his children, and his family dearly. He worked hard. He lived quietly. He spoke volumes with his silence. He hurt deeper than we will ever know. He was the baddest man in the room, we just never knew it. I'm not qualified to say it, but Semper fi big brother. Mom and dad would be so proud. Rest in Peace. Robert Lee

Steve was one in a million. A great guy!!! Loved working with him many years at Sears. Prayers to all his family and friends.  He will be greatly missed!!!

We grew up together. From First Grade at Adams, Jr. High at Robinson, High School at SE to college roommates. This I know. Throughout his life he was a Christian, knew right from wrong and always had character beyond his years. He became a Husband, Father, Brother and beloved friend by all who met him. His concern, care and love for others was always his first thought and moral compass.

In reading the citation with his Navy Commendation Medal honor, his actions were so reflective of his soul, so Steve. Concern, care, compassion comfort for others his first and natural response. The same responses reflected in his life, his purpose. He has always been a hero.

All the life’s he has touched will remember this man forever. I am but one to be Blessed by our friendship and too will miss you Steve. As we always would part from each other, “love you brother”.

My sincere condolences to Pat, Bob and all family members. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

My love and sympathy to you Pattie and all Steve's family.  I am so very sorry that Steve lost this battle but we know that he is with our Father in Heaven and will suffer no more.  Steve was a good man and, Patti, you were such a devoted wife.  I know he loved going to the Shocker games!  You and Steve were so good to my mother.  Steve will certainly be missed by so many but especially by his family.

A quick hello as we drove through town a few years ago! Pat & Steve even took the time to run to Godfathers Pizza so I could take home a Taco Pizza! My family & I loved it & its become a tradition since we don’t have Godfathers in Arizona!! Lol!! Pat & Steve are always doing something nice for others! ❤️

Steve was amazing! Such a nice man, he was always quick to help others! I don’t think I ever heard him say the words “no.” Steve will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Pat & all of Steve’s friends & family! I’m so sorry for your loss, but heaven has welcomed a true angel & one day, we will all reunite! 

Steve played end at SE. He, Ken Coberly, Fred Boles and I roomed together at Emporia State and played football together.  He was a fun guy and I know will be missed. Semper Fi old buddy. 

When ever our group of friends, Pat, Steve, Sharon, Bob and Jay and I gathered at Patty's home, Steven always sat behind Pat and would listen to whatever was being said.. we had many laughs, but Steven had a quiet laugh, however once in a while he would roar and that is my memory.. Steve's big laugh will be missed. The quiet man, the father and the husband.. I heart you Steven.. 


Patti and family, my heart breaks for you during this time of loss.  May you find comfort and peace in the coming day in his memories.  Steve was a great friend, family man, and man who served his country proudly and will be missed by many.  Rest in love and peace Steve.
