

Susan Kay Johnson, age 70, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on May 20, 2026.
Susan was born on January 2, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, to parents Daryle and Penny Yeakle. She grew up in Wichita and attended Linwood Elementary, Kellogg Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, and graduated from East High School with the Class of 1974. Susan carried with her the friendships and memories of those formative years throughout her life.
On June 18, 1977, Susan was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert "Rob" Johnson at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Wichita. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and shared experiences, beginning with a honeymoon in Eureka Springs. Their marriage was a lasting example of devotion, partnership, and commitment.
Susan dedicated many years of service in administrative roles, including her time at Joyland Amusement Park, Coors of Kansas, and L’Ouverture Elementary School. She was known for her reliability, quiet strength, and the care she brought to her work and those around her.
Above all, Susan cherished her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their sporting events and school programs, and celebrating their milestones. She also found enjoyment in reading books on her Kindle, playing word games, and visiting the zoo—simple pleasures that brought her much happiness.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert "Rob" Johnson of the home; her son, Jared Johnson (Crystal) of Wichita; her daughters, Tamara Osborn (Will) of Benton and Rachel Johnson (Yule Jabara) of Wichita; her fourteen beloved grandchildren: Chase Osborn, Keira Osborn, Maleigha Johnson, Riley Jabara, Josiah Johnson, Piper Jabara, Esme Jabara, Audriana Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Demi Johnson, Aubri Johnson, Anson Jabara, Kennedy Osborn, and Declan Jabara; her mother-in-law, Norma Johnson; her sisters-in-law, Debbie (Dwight) Rhodes of Wichita and Sandy (Gregg) Wright of Goddard; her brother-in-law, Darrell Johnson of Clearwater, KS; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish her memory. Susan also leaves her beloved Pomeranian, Hogan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daryle and Penny Yeakle and her sister, Karyn Yeakle.
Susan will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Service for Susan will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 30th, with visitation an hour prior, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 East 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
