Terry was raised in Northwest Kansas. He served honorably in the United States Navy where he went to Nursing School. During his service, Terry earned a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for his heroism while serving in Vietnam.
Terry enjoyed fishing, panning for gold, hunting playing pool and especially riding his motorcycles. He was a passionate artist which showed in his drawings, paintings and carvings.
Terry is survived by his sons Mike Leitner (Julia) and Chris Leitner (Tamara) and grandchildren Keith Leitner, Mark Leitner, Kurt Leitner, Scott Leitner, Shaun Leitner, Kaylee Leitner, and Nick Leitner.
Terry was preceded in death by his father Marvin Lloyd Leitner and his mother Mary Garber.
Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N Socora St, Wichita, KS 67212. Visitation from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, Rosary at 9:30 AM, and Mass will be held at 10:00 AM. Following the services, a committal will occur at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield, KS at 1:00 PM.
