Thelma Pauline (Shockley) Trueblood, known as loving mother, grandma, and GiGi by those who loved her most; went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, April 27, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1935, in Washburn, Missouri to Aud and Jane (Fielding) Shockley.
Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Trueblood; her parents; 9 of her 12 siblings; 1 grandchild; and 1 great-grandbaby.
She is survived by her three children, Debra (Kevin) Rader, Glenda (Steven) Gorszczyk, and Byron (Jackie) Trueblood; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her younger siblings, Dean (Linda) Shockley, Donald (Lawanda) Shockley, Jean Roller and Mae Stephens; as well as numerous extended family members in the Shockley and Trueblood families.
Thelma grew up in Barry County, Missouri along with her 12 siblings and many family and friends. She attended Star Hollow School. When she finished her school years, she came to Wichita with her sisters to find a job. This is where she met her love, Frank D. Trueblood and they married on September 7, 1957. They were married 40 years until he passed in 1997.
Thelma lived her life as a Domestic Engineer for her family and also did ironing and babysitting on the side. Her faith in God was the center of her mind and home always. If she could not make it to her Assembly of God church, she listened to her southern gospel music almost 24|7.
She very much enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, word search books and adult coloring books. In her last few months, we converted our family photos into coloring pages, and she enjoyed coloring her family. She made a notebook of her coloring pages for each of her children.
Thelma was very pleased that God allowed her to live to 90 years old. The family had a big celebration for her. She prayed every day, "Thank you God for letting me live another day, even though it was a tough day". She would also pray that her tribe would receive Jesus, so that we can all stroll through Heaven together. Her famous words were, "Come see me!".
This is our promise to her ~ "We'll see you at the Heavenly Reunion!"
